Our Mission
Our mission at Capital Aircraft Services is to provide premium aircraft avionic solutions and maintenance to a select group of clients who have a strong desire for the utmost quality and timeliness.
Company Background
Capital Aircraft Services Pty Ltd was established in 1994 as a private company when the current owner and Managing Director, Neil Allen, identified a need for general aviation avionic support in the Canberra region.
Neil was at that time employed by Ansett Australia as an avionic engineer servicing the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 fleet.
As the region’s general aviation operators became accustomed to this level of expertise the expected standard of avionic support was reflected in the customer base. This extended from the General Aviation sector to Airline, Regional, Corporate, Defense and Search and Rescue operators.
The company has since grown from a single location at Canberra Airport in many directions and in several locations. Whilst based in Canberra, Capital Aircraft Services used its CASA approved temporary location facility to provide total maintenance support for airline operated Beechcraft B1900C aircraft in addition to the Pilatus PC12 demonstrator aircraft, based in Adelaide, South Australia.
The company’s capabilities were significantly increased to provide a remotely controlled maintenance service to Raytheon Australia. This involved significant consultation with CASA to develop procedures allowing remote Manufacturing In The Course Of Maintenance (MITCOM).
As Capital Aircraft Services capabilities and customer expectations have grown, the need for a larger facility was identified. The main administration office and avionic workshop relocated to the Illawarra Regional Airport (YWOL) in October 2005.
The knowledge of Capital Aircraft Services expertise has spread and now well recognised by all types of operators not just within the Sydney basin but encompassing the entire Australasia region.
